It’s a tempting claim, ‘Lose 50 Pounds Without Diet or Exercise!’ ‘Run your Diesel Engine on Water!!’ Boy, I’d like to believe it, a nice dream, but it is a dream.
I don’t care if you call it leaf guard, a gutter, a helmet or even a glove. Over a few seasons, dirt, seeds, shingle residue, pine needles or whatever are going to get through and settle to the bottom of your gutter trough. As they build up, that accumulation will slow down, impede or stop the flow of water through your gutters. You need to get up there (or pay someone to get up there) and physically clean out the gutters. You can use a pressure spray or brush or whatever, but that goo/slime/residue at the bottom of your gutters needs to be gone.
Why do I write this? Because I have had the pleasure of dealing with ice dams in the middle of Winter and have had the nauseating feeling of seeing my ceiling drywall turn those shades of gray when they’re wet.
Take a look at www.GutterBrush.com I like the product because it’s simple, straightforward and economical. It does not eliminate cleaning your gutters but minimizes your gutters being clogged with leftover leaves, seed pods, sticks and all the other things that show up throughout the year. Check out their web site for more information and pricing.
